Carolyn Guerin is an emerging artist based in Buffalo, NY and Boston, MA. Carolyn graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2023 with a BFA in 2D fine arts. She received both departmental and academic honors.
Carolyn works to be part of the curation and installation scene. She has curated and installed numerous galleries including spaces on college campuses as well as galleries from her time at Buffalo Art Studios.
Artist Statement
Carolyn finds major importance in making work about her experience living with an autistic brother who needs 24-hour care. This is an important subject to her as she wishes to visually show how daily life looks to both her brother and her family. The reasoning for this is because Carolyn would like to share this perspective with those who have never experienced it. She works to meld this topic of her work with pop culture and nostalgia as this is also a major part of her and her brother’s childhood. This is also a major part of their current lifestyle as well.
